Kate Whitehead is successful in her own right and helping others achieve global success. As the Founder and Managing Director of Avant Group, she oversees the firm’s grants consulting team. Her work spans government grants, Export Market Development Grant advisory, grants strategy and corporate governance.

Outside Avant Group, Kate serves as Chair of the Export Chamber of Australia Incorporated (ECAI), the national peak body representing Australian exporters accessing the Export Market Development Grant program and professional consultants. She is also Vice President of the Fight Cancer Foundation and an Advisory Board Member of Gamma Capital Advisory. These roles reflect her broader contribution to governance, advocacy and strategic leadership.

Kate’s background combines commercial, technical and governance expertise. She holds a Masters in Marketing and a Post Graduate Diploma of Business Management from Melbourne Business School, together with postgraduate qualifications in Taxation and Law.

She also holds a Diploma of Engineering, Mechanical, from Swinburne University of Technology, a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Victoria University, and completed the Defence and Industry Study Course through the Department of Defence.
